Chapter 17 | Flirting

Qi Mingyue, who was in a coma, was completely unaware of the reactions of all parties in court. It was three days later when he woke up.

It seemed as if he had had a very long dream which was full of boundless nothingness and darkness. When he opened his eyes, he saw Qi Xutian's caring eyes and called out, "Father." He was surprised by the unconscious dependence revealed in his tender voice. Unlike this body, he was clearly no longer a child, but he still had a sentimental attachment to his father's eyes and hugs.

"MingEr is awake?" Qi Xutian lifted the hair on his cheek and helped him sit up, "Do you feel uncomfortable?"

"Father..." He sat up, called out and drilled into his Father's arms. The familiar scent made him release a sigh of relief, "Father..."

Seeing that he was alright, and hearing a soft cry from him, Qi Xutian couldn't help but take him into in his arms, "Now I think that MingEr also cares about me. After a few days of sleep, you were enlightened. "

After hearing his words, Qi Mingyue raised his head from his chest and pouted his lips. "I was enlightened the day I was born, how could Father not know?" He quirked an eyebrow and continued lightly, "And I don't care? You should know that although I'm not a humble gentleman, I am not such a casual person either that I'd easily agree to go to bed with my own biological father. If it hadn't been for you, Father--"

Before he could finish speaking, Qi Xutian blocked his lips by pressing his own against his and waited until his cheeks were flushed red and he couldn't breathe before releasing him, making him gasp. "Since I am so special in MingEr's eyes, why don't you prove it? I always feel that MingEr is a little cold..."

He even complained! Qi Mingyue frowned and got up from his arms to dress, "Father Emperor, don't forget what my age is right now. You promised that you will wait for me to grow up. If you don't want to wait, you can go find another child."

Qi Xutian's face sank and he glared at him, "Whatever Minger says, I am only interested in you. It doesn't matter that you are my blood or not, not even how old you are, it's just because it's you! Your Father is so hungry but still didn't choose to eat. I have countless unique men and women in the harem, why should I cling to one person? If it wasn't for MingEr, how could I be interested in a young child?! But MingEr is so young, what do you think I should do?"

"Father Emperor should be patient. Now I have to rely on your status and power. I'm a young boy, but I'm different from others. As long as you wait patiently, I won't let you down." When he was dressed neatly and was about to get down from the bed, Qi Xutian stretched out his hand and pulled him over, "MingEr, grow up quickly."

For the first time, he had the urge to roll his eyes. Ever since he was used to solve the problem of Jing Huang, Father seemed to be more interested in him. His speech was more uninhibited and he did not conceal his interest in him. Qi Mingyue put on an innocent look and tilted his head, "Mingyue also wants to grow up quickly, but I don't know Father Emperor wants to do?" He was clearly mocking and provoking him.

Qi Xutian raised his eyebrows and smiled, "MingEr dared to laugh at his Father Emperor, you are getting more and more presumptuous," he sighed helplessly and murmured, "I really want to have a taste..." While languidly leaning on the dragon bed, he licked his lips and his fingertips lingered on seemingly delicious food.

"Of course," Qi Mingyue replied without changing colour. "If you want to see me bleed to death, Father... Emperor..." He spoke out the last two words leisurely, peeled off the hands around his waist, ignoring the look on the man's face, he got up and left.

As he walked, he noticed that cool and warm Qi had appeared in his body and was circulating throughout. He couldn't pinpoint what exactly had changed but his entire body felt different. It hadn't been long since he had started practising martial arts and he didn't have any other experience yet, but he understood that the effect of Zuizhu had been achieved. The Qi circulating within must be the medicine that hadn't been fully absorbed yet, he must wait for some time to let it be completely absorbed by his meridians.

At this time, Qi Xutian had followed him out of the bed-chamber, "How does MingEr feel? Does anything feel different?"

"I can't fully understand it, but it seems that the medicine has not been completely absorbed by me." He looked up and everything in the distance was much clearer than before as if a fog had been cleared from his vision. Both Hong Qui and Ying Ran were looking his way with a smile, their red and white figures were as delicate as flowers. The grass around him looked much flesher and the pavilions and towers in the distance were more vivid than in the past.

He looked at the man in front of him - with tall stature, sword eyebrows, a pair of charming and deep peach eyes, wearing a black dragon robe embroidered with golden thread, and without a golden crown on his head, his long black hair was left free and fell on the loosened lapels of his robe. His hair moved with the wind. His slightly wheat-coloured skin was lined with a few vague shadows, revealing an air languidness and laziness.

"What are you looking at? Could it be that you are captivated by your Father Emperor?" Suddenly the words in his ears made him come back to his senses, he was really attracted by his Father's appearance. He couldn't help laughing helplessly, his mind couldn't be denied. He was really attracted to his father, both in terms of appearance and temperament.

Qi Xutian leaned down beside him and whispered, only to laugh when he saw how Qi Mingyue looked. But, unexpectedly, he was hooked on around his neck and a heated breath gently brushed against his ear, "I'm indeed amazed by Father's charm. So fascinating and charming, I can't help but want to grow up sooner. I am looking forward to the day when I can love Father on the dragon bed..."

After Qi Mingyue finished speaking, he extended the tip of his tongue and gently licked his ear, then turned around and walked away as if he hadn't done anything.

The palace attendants and servants on the side were surprised to see His Majesty slowly stand up with a strange expression on his face, then he laughed wildly for some unknown reason.

Qi Mingyue walked ahead and smiled slightly at the dumbfounded Hong Qui and Ying Ran. “I made both of you worry. After a few days of sleep, I’m a little bored. Why don't we go to the Imperial Garden?"

"His Majesty, he..." As he walked towards the Imperial Garden, Hong Qui glanced back strangely. "This slave doesn't know what Your Highness said to make His Majesty so happy, this slave has never seen His Majesty laugh like that."

With a smile in his eyes, Qi Mingyue replied, "It's nothing. Father Emperor heard me say that when I grow up, I would repay him and he felt moved."

Ying Ran suddenly stopped, her expression serious, "Your Highness, where you were missing these days or what exactly happened, this slave does not know, but the ministers in court are talking privately, saying that this matter was suspicious, even suspected..." At this point, she stopped and seemed to find it difficult to continue.

He heard Ying Ran’s words and immediately understood it. He thought of those people who were speculating recklessly and also suspected his father's intentions, grew unhappy, turned around to return, "Back to Xuantian Palace, prepare for tomorrow, I will follow Father to morning court!"

•×•×•×•

The next morning, in the main hall, the group of ministers paid their respects and stood up, but unexpectedly saw that it wasn't His Majesty sitting on the dragon chair, but the Second Prince who had been missing for several days!

They saw his small figure sitting cross-legged on the dragon throne with his elbow propped up on his leg and supporting his chin, looking at them with an expression of interest on his face.

Someone immediately stood up, "The Second Prince is so brave that he dares to come here and overstep his bounds in morning court! Is the dragon seat a place where you can play casually?!" His words were fierce, but there was a look of schadenfreude on his face. It seemed that he would like for him to be punished.

"No need to be so harsh, His Royal Highness is still young and hasn't learned the rules yet after he enrolling in the Royal School. Even if he lost etiquette, it's just the naughty nature of children. Why should us adults be so aggressive?"

This man seemed to be speaking in his defence, but he directly described his act of breaking the law as "losing etiquette". With a smile on his face, Qi Mingyue looked at the colourful expressions on the faces of the people below. They looked extremely interesting. There was a famous military general who looked worried and his appearance bore sticking resemblance to his consort mother. Quite possibly, that was his grandfather, General An.

At this moment, Qi Xutian walked in unhurriedly. He did not look at the reaction of the people below and directly picked him up in his arms and made him sit on his lap. Then asked lightly, "What are the ministers talking about? Are the envoys of An Yang and Lian Tong going to leave? Do you intend to present gifts to them personally?"

The ministers quickly shook their heads in fear. To privately entrust gifts to the envoys of other countries was the crime of treason. His Majesty said so, what did he mean? Did someone among them dare to give gifts in private?! For a moment, they forgot that they had been discussing about the Second Prince, not to mention that even His Majesty turned a blind eye to his behaviour. What could they say?

Qi Xutian made a sudden expression of realization, "Oh, I forgot. All the ministers have been very concerned about my child recently. Today he felt better, so I brought him for the ministers to see. Now, all of you can rest assured."

"His Second Highness is unharmed, it is a blessing for Cang He." The courtiers congratulated one after another the surface but thought in their hearts, it seemed that the Second Prince was still the most favoured one, but somehow, His Majesty was not nervous at that time when he disappeared? They didn't know if it was His Majesty who sent someone to rescue the Second Prince. The child dared to sit on the dragon chair in public today. His Majesty seemed to know about it but didn't even stop him. He even embraced him in his arms. It seemed that for the title of the crown prince, the other princes did not have much of a chance.

"Are An Yang and Lian Tong's envoys leaving? I want to see them."

Hearing the abrupt statement of the Second Prince, everyone was stunned. Even if he was the favourite of His Majesty, but there was no room for a little child to interfere in the main hall, not to mention the envoys of both the countries had already sorted out their belongings and were about to leave. He wanted to see them?

Unexpectedly, they saw His Majesty stroking his head and answered gently, "MingEr wants to see them? Then you will see them." Then he said to Chief Liu, "Send word to them that the Second Prince wants to see them. Order the envoys of An Yang and Lian Tong to postpone their leave to the city."

All the ministers were shocked. Because of a child's words, His Majesty called the envoys back?! They could not believe it.

After a while, the envoys arrived.
