Chapter 43 | Leaving The Palace

Note: This chapter contains minor sexual content.

She hesitated again and again, then finally spoke, “You don’t know, but I do have something bothering me, so I didn’t bother to pay attention to the things outside.” Upon seeing Little Black perched on his shoulder, her eyes showed a relieved smile. Little Black was so close to him, it seemed that Tianyin’s foundation had solidified, which made the aura around him even more peaceful and safe and ended up making such an alert spirit take the initiative to get close.

Noticing that she looked worried when she talked about it, Qi Mingyue was a little surprised. However, before he could inquire, Jiang Yao's complexion had already turned pale as she asked about Lianxin gu.

Knowing that there was no need to hide from her, he told the story and when he arrived at the subject of Lianxin gu, he signalled for Ying Ran to answer. Ying Ran was already good at the art of healing and poisoning and had always been clever and intelligent, therefore, right then, in just a few words she talked about the characteristics of Lianxin gu.

She knew that the right melody could control the gu, that’s why she intentionally discussed with the Empress who knew the art of Tianyin. She wanted to get rid of the gu for His Royal Highness as soon as possible, hence, she also expressed her own opinions.

After listening to Ying Ran's words, Jiang Yao fell silent as she began thinking, then suddenly, she raised her head and said, “Mingyue, do you know that I had something to tell you earlier?”

Qi Mingyue nodded, he naturally saw her desire to speak before but when he heard her ask about the gu poison, he did not pursue the matter, “What is it that you want to say? Just tell me.”

Jiang Yao sighed, “I didn't want to trouble you and I know that His Majesty wouldn’t let you go, but now, it looks like you’ll have to do it.”

From what she said, could it be that he needed to leave the palace? Qi Mingyue questioned with his eyes and heard her continue, “This matter will also be beneficial to you in relieving the gu poison and you might even be able to remove it entirely.”

As soon as she said this, both Hong Qi and Ying Ran showed expressions of joy and hurriedly asked her.

Jiang Yao beckoned Little Black, motioned towards it and spoke, “Little Black’s origin is extraordinary, it was originally a mountain spirit and was tamed by a senior. My guqin was also gifted by this senior. He has been practising Tianyin for many years and his talent is exceptional. Although it’s not as good as that of a Celestial like you, he’s still able to bring out most of the effects of Tianyin. However, I recently received news that this senior went astray while practising Tianyin and was unable to control its power, as a result, he went mad. The people walking close to him were all hurt by the sound of his zither, but he could not control himself and was overwhelmed by the sound of his own music for three days.”

To play the zither for three consecutive days while using Tianyin, unfortunately, he would probably not last long, but she couldn't leave the palace. Every day, there was constant back and forth communication and intelligence exchange between Jianghu and the palace and she needed to make clear decisions before reporting to His Majesty, therefore, only Mingyue, who had also learned Tianyin, could go there for her but wasn’t just for this reason.

“If it was just for this one reason, I wouldn't want you to go, but there is Lianxin gu in your body and if you want to get rid of it, you can only rely on the method of Tianyin. That senior is highly skilful, and his skills are profound, so as long as you save him, you would completely be able to control the gu with your music and then lead it out safely.”

As soon as this remark came out, Qi Mingyue was tempted. If he was able to fully remove the Lianxin gu, it could be regarded as having solved a major problem.

“I wonder if you would like to go?”

He nodded, but then recalled that he would leave the palace and felt worried about Father Emperor getting angry again.

When they came out of Ranxin Pavilion, it was already getting late. On the way back to the Xuantian Palace, he encountered a few palace people whom he didn’t care about at first but soon noticed that when they saw him, their expressions became weird. After bowing evasively, they hurriedly left.

Finding it strange, he glanced at Hong Qi and Ying Ran and noted the anger in their eyes; he seemed to understand the reason. Could it be that something he didn't know happened when he fell unconscious the other day?

“Do you know why they are like this?” He asked both Hong Qi and Ying Ran squarely.

Hong Qi first lowered her head, then raised it indignantly after a pause, “Your Royal Highness, I don't know who it is, but they[1] said that Consort An who perished in the prison died because of you. They also said that Your Royal Highness is the alien star and would bring disaster and calamity to Cang He. It's really infuriating, it was all spread in secret. No one dares to say it openly, and it’s not easy to catch them one by one. But His Majesty didn't respond, he didn’t chastise people--,” Before she could finish speaking, Ying Ran tugged at her sleeve. Hong Qi was startled into immediate silence, then remembered that His Majesty had instructed them to not disturb His Highness with anything.

[1] Not meant to signify multiple people here, just a person we don’t know the gender of as it wasn’t mentioned, a neutral pronoun was used.

Seeing both of their expressions, Qi Mingyue understood that it must be that Father hadn’t allowed them to say anything. It appeared that the matter regarding alien star emerged earlier than he expected, and it had been spread out. The fear in peoples’ hearts had erupted. An Ruolan’s death, regardless of whether they knew the inside story or not, was a fact that would cast a shadow on his identity; from the most favoured prince to the alien star that would harm the country.

It seemed that it was the time to go out to avoid the limelight, or simply ask Father Emperor to issue an edict to expel him from the palace?

He shook his head, if Father knew what he was thinking, it would lead him to become even angrier and result in punishment.

Back in the Xuantian Hall, Qi Xutian was already waiting for him to dine. The two sat down together. Qi Mingyue looked at the dishes on the table and didn’t move his mouth. He hesitated and said to Qi Xutian, “Father, I need to go out of the palace.”

Since he had to say it sooner or later, he might as well do it sooner. Although Father was domineering, he was not an unreasonable person.

Qi Xutian frowned but did not show any anger. He stared at Qi Mingyue intently and put down the chopsticks in his hand, “Why?”

Although he didn't see anger on his face, he could hear the displeasure in his words. Qi Mingyue quickly informed about what Jiang Yao had told him earlier. After Qi Xutian heard it, his expression gradually sank until finally, he sighed, “Even if I don’t agree to it, you will have to go there to resolve the gu poison in your body.”

Although Qi Mingyue knew he would agree, he still felt relieved, “She said that that place isn’t far from YeYao City where the Imperial Palace is located, it takes only two days for a round-trip. If nothing happens, I will be able to return to the palace in three days.”

“Then depart tomorrow, I will instruct Liu Yi to prepare appropriately.”

It was indeed better that he went there sooner rather than later. It was just that Father Emperor agreed so quickly and even arranged everything for him, this surprised him.

Upon observing his face closely, there was no difference; he neither showed an angry look nor was there the slightest hint of reluctance. Qi Mingyue became a little irritable.

He picked up the bowl, suppressed the feeling in his heart and began dining as usual, but forgot to ask about the rumours regarding the alien star.

The next day, Qi Mingyue first went to Ranxin Pavilion to bid Jiang Yao goodbye. When she heard that Qi Xutian had agreed to let him go out of the palace so quickly, she felt a little surprised. She told him the name and residence of her senior and also went through many details one by one. Little Black was also given to him as it was originally tamed by that senior, additionally, it would be the best for communicating through messages.

Qi Mingyue went out quietly, as a result, no one in the palace knew of the Second Prince's departure. As Chief Liu beckoned the carriage, Qi Mingyue stood motionless with Hong Qi and Ying Ran.

“Chief Liu, is Father still discussing matters in the palace?” He couldn't help but ask.

Liu Yi shook his head, “His Majesty has been busy with state affairs recently and something has happened in the harem. There are too many things for His Majesty to worry about and necessitate him to work hard, consequently, his dragon body is feeling unwell and he hasn’t been to morning court.”

“Father is sick?” Qi Mingyue couldn't believe it. Father was fine yesterday, how could he be sick? He was about to question him in a hurry but felt someone embrace his waist from behind. He was about to sidestep and fight back but noticed the familiar presence.

“Chief Liu...” He sighed, very speechless about the fact that someone like Liu Yi could speak nonsense without blinking and with such a serious look. The alleged sick person was clearly inside the carriage, but Liu Yi was teasing him by claiming something entirely different.

Liu Yi bowed slightly, his face calm and unwavering. He led Hong Qi and Ying Ran to another carriage, but there was a smile in his eyes when he left.

Holding the arm that was around his waist, Qi Mingyue turned around and saw that the person standing behind him was Qi Xutian. “Did Father intentionally hide it from me yesterday?”

Qi Xutian chuckled triumphantly, “If I hadn’t done this, how could I have seen your expression of concern towards me? I’m really flattered, it turns out that MingEr can also have such a perturbed expression. You also know how to feel nervous for me.” Holding him in his arms, Qi Xutian got into the carriage and sat down.

The interior was very spacious, and the layout was also extraordinarily comfortable, it made people want to lie down as soon as they saw it. Cakes and fruits were all available, and there were also soft cushions and thin blankets present.

“Why won’t I feel nervous for you? Don’t wrong me, Father.” It was just that he usually didn’t show it arbitrarily, unlike Father Emperor who got angry upon seeing him being even slightly close to others.

“Then why didn’t I see you getting angry when I go to those concubines?” Qi Xutian held him tightly and questioned as if he was very upset about it.

Qi Mingyue smiled, “Father never touched them, so why should I be angry?” As an Emperor, if he lingered in the harem every day, it would be absurd. But if he didn’t go to the harem for a long time, that would make people speculate, so to prevent the world from misunderstanding that father was suffering from a secret illness, he occasionally went to the harem to walk around.

Seeing the amusement in his eyes, how could Qi Xutian not know what he was thinking about? He lightly bit his earlobe as punishment before asking nonchalantly, “If I can't bear it someday and touch those in the harem, what would you do?”

Qi Mingyue lowered his eyes and when he raised them again, it was already covered in cold indifference, “If such a day really comes, I would kill the people that you touched and then leave the palace, never to look back.” As a life-long companion, if you couldn’t treat him wholeheartedly, you might as well not bother with it.

When he said these words, his expression was calm, but the detachment in his eyes made Qi Xutian feel unbearable. He pressed him under his body, pressed their lips together, licked it, and his hold around Qi Mingyue’s waist tightened. Then, he whispered in his ear, “I will not let you have the opportunity to leave. In this life, you are mine.”

Except for MingEr, no one could make him feel so emotional. Qi Xutian pressed his body and kissed him hard on the side of his neck, and then spoke with a strong warning in his words, “Don’t say anything about leaving me. Except you, I won’t touch anyone, and you must remember that every inch of your body belongs to me.”

His hand slowly slid down Qi Mingyue’s waist and when he heard a low cry from the young man, a smile rose on to his lips. Just as he was about to make a move, he heard Liu Yi ask from outside the carriage, “Your Majesty, that thing in the palace...”

“I will leave it to you, and it must be done by the time I return.” Qi Xutian paused for a bit and an inscrutable look flashed past in his eyes. The carriage began to leave after his words fell.

Inside the carriage, Qi Xutian smiled wickedly at the young man’s questioning eyes. Before Qi Mingyue could ask, his hand had already been inserted in his (QM) underwear. With a low gasp, the hand that was teasing the boyhood of the young man was held.

“Father...what exactly is the matter?” Qi Mingyue endured the pleasure, held onto Qi Xutian’s hand to stop him, and questioned.

“It is precisely because of the rumours regarding the alien star that I have ordered someone to find out who did it.” Qi Xutian replied, but the movement of his hands did not stop. He held the youth’s hardened member and stroked along its length slowly.

Qi Mingyue groaned at the feeling and helplessly released Father’s hands, letting him ignite the fire of lust below. Uncontrollable pleasure struck him, it travelled to all parts of his body like delicious lava and sent shivers down his spine. He tried to hold back the moan in his throat and continued to ask, “That... the rumour... someone deliberately spread them?”

Following Qi Xutian's movements, he suddenly gasped, “Father... don't... let me finish... Ah!” He cried out, only to see that Qi Xutian had actually unfastened his silk pants and was directing a sly smile towards him, “Last time, I made you work hard. Naturally, I should reward you well for that courtesy...”

As he spoke, he lowered his head and took Qi Mingyue’s sensitive, immature member into his mouth.

Indus: Again, took the liberty to add a couple of sentences and made it a tad bit better. :)
